Every meal tells a story, and this is the story of 1st Infantry Division Veteran and Chef JD Kammes. Enjoy a meal and better understand the military service of one veteran of the 1st Infantry Division. Through storytelling and a five-course meal, created especially by Chef Kammes, hear and taste the history of the 1st Infantry Division like never before. MENU COMING SOON!

 

Chef JD Kammes– “I have cooked in restaurants, and I have gone to war.”

Chef Kammes served for eight years as a tank commander with the 1st Infantry Division U.S. Army. During that time Kammes was deployed to Kosovo from 1999-2000 and Iraq from 2003- 2004. After his service, Kammes worked at the First Division Museum before attending the Culinary Institute of America where he graduated. With more than three years’ experience working in restaurants, Kammes has a passion for cooking, good food, and good people. He currently lives in Napa, California.
