Sometimes you can see a lot of birds from one spot! We’ll test that theory once again by replacing our usual bird walk with a fun birding event known at The Big Sit!
Our designated perch will again be located at the top of Cantigny Park’s Butterfly Hill, ensuring a panoramic view of multiple habitat types. We’ll be there until AT LEAST noon so arrive when you wish and stay as long as you want. The format is “open house.”
Limit 25 birders. All must register (including Cantigny Park members) by using the button below. The $5 program cost includes parking. Program cost is waived for Cantigny Park members and for ages 15 and under. After registering, you will receive a receipt with a QR code. When entering the park, the parking booth attendant will scan your code.

This event, like our regular walks, is in partnership with the DuPage Birding Club. Beginning birders and kids at least 8 years old (accompanied by an adult) are welcome. Participants should bring a folding chair. A water bottle, sunscreen and snacks are recommended. Extra binoculars will be available for borrowing.
