SOLD OUT – Bird Walk
St. James Farm, Warrenville, IL
THIS PROGRAM IS NOW FULL. LIMIT 15 PARTICIPANTS DUE TO COVID-19. WE HOPE TO RAISE THE PARTICIPATION LIMIT ON BIRD WALKS THIS FALL. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
Due to Project New Leaf construction at Cantigny Park, this walk is migrating to nearby St. James Farm! This wonderful 600-acre property, part of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, is a great birding venue in all seasons. It also has ties to Cantigny: Robert McCormick’s cousin, Chauncey McCormick, once lived at St. James.
Cantigny bird walks are conducted in partnership with the DuPage Birding Club. Beginning birders and kids at least 8 years old (accompanied by an adult) are always welcome. Enjoy the full walk or stay for as long as you wish. A limited number of binoculars are available for those who wish to borrow a pair. Please note that Cantigny walks are sometimes attended by 40 or more birders!
The St. James entrance is on Winfield Road, about a mile south of Cantigny and just north of Butterfield Road. Meet in the main parking lot. Entry is free.
