SOLD OUT – Birdwatching Open

Cantigny Golf
7:30 am

The Birdwatching Open coincides with World Migratory Bird Day and focuses attention on the important role golf courses can play in providing bird-friendly habitat. The goal is to find as many species as we can, birding the Cantigny Golf property for most of the day.

As a registered Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, Cantigny Golf is an excellent place to see birds. We’ll concentrate on the non-play areas of the 275-acre property and stay clear of the golfers. This event will be at or near the peak of spring migration so our list of sightings should be high—expect to see colorful warblers, vireos, buntings, tanagers and orioles. If conditions are right, and with luck, we could see or hear 90 species!

For safety, the Birdwatching Open is limited to 15 participants. Register in advance by sending an email to jreiter@cantigny.org with “Birdwatching Open” on the Subject line. Logistical details will be emailed to registered birders about 10 days before the event.

Free event, including parking. Please park in the lower lot of Cantigny Golf, near the big white tent.
