Top o’ the Charts
The DSO, led by Maestra Barbara Schubert, returns to Cantigny to celebrate popular chart-topping music from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, and beyond! Hit tunes from the Big Band era and early Rock ’n Roll to the Sounds of the Sixties — including the Beach Boys, Beatles, Mamas & The Papas, Simon & Garfunkel, and even a little Motown — will have you tapping your feet, humming along, and maybe even dancing on the lawn! The concert will showcase a captivating array of orchestral medleys with musical styles that both reflected and defined popular culture in the second half of the 20th century — a fitting complement to the vibrant Andy Warhol exhibit this summer at the College of DuPage. Join us for a fun-filled and nostalgic evening under the stars, featuring some of the most energetic, inspiring, and enduring highlights of American popular song!
This concert is free with $15 parking per car. Seating is on the lawn outside the First Division Museum. We encourage guests to bring chairs and blankets, and picnics are welcome. Concessions will be available for purchase. This is a rain or shine event.
The DuPage Symphony Orchestra is based in Naperville and was founded in 1954. For more information, visit dupagesymphony.org.
