Stories in Stone: Decoding the Sentiment Behind Cemetery Symbolism
A virtual event via Zoom
Monday, October 19
Have you ever visited a cemetery and wondered about the designs carved on old gravestones? The symbols found on headstones usually possess special meanings to those interred in their final resting place. But what do they mean? Find out by taking a virtual tour of several cemeteries with Debra Dudek, local genealogist, author, and librarian. In addition, Jeff Anderson, Interpretation Manager from the McCormick House, will discuss Colonel McCormick’s gravesite, known as the Exedra.
We’ll send a Zoom meeting link to registered members at 5 pm on October 19, two hours before the presentation begins.
