We welcome back the Prairie State Bonsai Society for its 4th annual Winter Silhouette Exhibit. This event features bonsai trees without leaves — the best time to see their structure, especially the ramification. The latter refers to the practice of dividing stems or limbs into smaller branches, the goal being to create a dense, inward growth, resulting in a thicker canopy.
The one-day exhibit will include items for sale, including bonsai, pots, tools and other materials. Best of all, the exhibitors will be happy to answer questions and discuss their passion for bonsai! Admission is free with paid parking ($5).
