Medal of Honor Family Drop-In

First Division Museum Lobby
September 30, 1 -3 pm

Join us for a family-friendly drop-in activity commemorating the extraordinary individuals who have received the Congressional Medal of Honor, the United States’ highest military award for valor. In particular, we will be honoring 1st Infantry Division Medal of Honor Recipient Larry Taylor, who received the Medal of Honor at the White House on September 5 for his heroic helicopter rescue of four soldiers in Vietnam in June 1968.

Be our guest inside the First Division Museum as we rebroadcast highlights from Larry Taylor’s White House ceremony.  Visitors can write a note to Captain Taylor, handle gear that soldiers used in Vietnam, and learn the history and symbolism of the Medal of Honor.
