Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Horizon
Tank Park
July 18, 7 – 9 pm
Horizon is an 8-piece band, originally formed in the mid 1970s while a few of the musicians attended the University of Illinois, Champaign.
The lineup consists of drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, trombone, trumpet, sax, and one of the most engaging lead singers in Chicagoland.
Horizon has opened for such high profile acts as Three Dog Night and Tower of Power, performing popular music featuring unique and solid horn riffs. After achieving success in clubs and corporate events, the band paused in the 80’s to raise families and pursue individual careers.
In 2019, the band reformed again playing their distinctive brand of R&B, Soul, Rock, and Motown. Horizon performs music created by such artists as Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, The Ides of March, Temptations, James Brown, Blues Brothers, and Earth Wind and Fire. All music performed is recognizable and danceable. The most important achievement for the band is for everyone in the crowd to have a great time.
