Thursday, April 23, 6 – 8 pm
Le Jardin, Cantigny Visitors Center

Embark on a cross-continental adventure tracing the remarkable global history of one spring’s most iconic flowers, the tulip. Cantigny’s Director of Horticulture, Jamie Burghardt, will guide you through the tulip’s path from Asia Minor to Europe and ultimately the United States while highlighting the political, artistic, trade, and cultural forces that shaped its rise.
No grand adventure is complete without sampling new flavors along the way. Throughout the evening, enjoy curated culinary pairings inspired by each region on the tulip’s route, offering a taste of the cultures that carried this flower across the world.
Attendees will receive a pass for free parking to return to the park on another day and wander the tulips after learning about their journey!
